滞在制作も2ヶ月弱経ち、ようやく大型窯を点火。大小様々な作品を器も込みで300点ほど。陶芸の森のスタッフの方々の窯詰めは本当に凄いです。これだけの物量を危なげなく詰めることができました。特に上段に90センチ角棚板配置の発想。動画ではわかりにくいですが実際の窯はとても大きい印象。

秋の個展、アートフェア、2人展に持っていきます。

Two months into my residency, I finally fired up the large kiln.

Around 300 pieces of all sizes, including vessels, were carefully loaded into the kiln. Watching the staff at Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park load everything was incredible — it felt like putting together a gigantic puzzle, fitting every single piece into place with amazing precision.

Now the kiln is fired, and I can’t wait to see the results.

These works will be heading to several upcoming exhibitions, including my solo exhibition this autumn, an art fair, and a two-person exhibition.

Exciting times ahead. 🔥

⁡Since July, I’ve been working as a Studio Artist at Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park in Shiga, Japan.
⁡
Sharing a studio and working alongside artists from all over the world has been an incredibly inspiring experience.
⁡
As part of my exploration of new techniques and lighter forms, I challenged myself to make a large-scale piece just 3 mm thick. Unfortunately, it ended in a spectacular failure in the kiln… 😭
Time to move on to the next piece!

Solo Exhibition!

個展が無事に終了しました。
短い期間で本当に沢山の方にお越しいただけたようで、応援して下さる全ての皆さまに御礼申し上げます。
会場は主にCFCL等を展開するファッションエリアの中で、作品を展示するには様々な条件が多い環境だった為、その中でどれだけ作品で遊べるかを設営前から打合せてご無理を通させていただきました。

今回は地元での個展のため敢えてここ3年間で制作したシリーズを幅広く展開したことで、ここ数年の変化が地続きであったことを昔から応援して下さる方々から感想で聞くことができ、また次に向けて頑張ろうと思う活力をいただけました。
またお会いできるように頑張ります！

New studio!

今更のご報告ですが、3月末に2年間所属していた卯辰山工芸工房を修了し、東京に引越し独立しました。
引越し中から展示ラッシュだったので整理する前に制作を始めてしまい、既に荷物だらけ粉まみれ部屋になってしまいましたが、、。これから制作しやすいように少しずつ整えて、契約期間の数年はここを拠点に頑張ります。
藝大にいた時から、窯が設置できて土間の物件+賃料安めで約4年探し続けていたので修了直前に見つけられて本当に運が良かったです。面接で選んで下さった寛大な大家さん、管理会社さんに感謝。まずは来年窯を入れられるように🔥

因みにこの物件第1号住人ということで、引越し日にデザイナーの方が撮影して下さっためっちゃ綺麗な状態の家の写真が先日送られてきたので記念に📷

A bit of a belated update, but at the end of March I completed the two-year program at Utatsuyama Craft Workshop and moved to Tokyo to begin working independently.

Since moving, I’ve been busy with exhibitions and started making work before fully settling in, so the studio is already filled with boxes and clay dust. Little by little, I’m shaping it into a space where I can work comfortably. This will be my base for the next few years.

I had been searching for a place where I could eventually install a kiln ever since my days at Geidai—nearly four years in total—so I feel incredibly lucky to have found this one just before graduating. I’m very grateful to the landlord and management team who gave me this opportunity.

My first goal: installing a kiln here next year 🔥

As a bonus, these photos were taken by the designer on moving day. Since I’m the very first resident of this property, I thought I’d share this rare glimpse of the space before it became covered in boxes and clay dust 📷
